MeowTown — a Cat Comic by Tim Schreiber

Sick

A three-panel MeowTown comic that parodies the 'Soft Kitty' bit from The Big Bang Theory — but with a sick cat demanding the song instead of a sick human, and the song's lyrics inverted into the cat's contempt for his caretaker. Panel one: Cheddar (an orange tabby cat) lies bundled in a gray blanket on a couch with half-lidded eyes and a thermometer in his mouth. The person in the green shirt stands beside the couch, expression neutral. Cheddar says weakly, 'I'm sick... sing the song.' Panel two: The shot tightens. The person crosses his arms and refuses defiantly: 'No. It's demeaning and stupid, and I won't do it.' Cheddar's pitiful demeanor drops entirely — eyes narrowed, fangs bared, head thrust forward in menace — and he commands, 'Sing the song.' Panel three: The shot widens back out. Cheddar is bundled up exactly as before, eyes closed in a pleased smile. The person stands beside him with a flat, defeated expression, singing: 'Soft human, fat human, stinky hairless ape. Stupid human servant human, no escape.' The lyrics scan to the same melody as the original Soft Kitty song. The joke: Cheddar has cast himself as the Sheldon Cooper of his household — rigid, demanding, requiring a specific ritual when ill — and his human, in the Penny role, complies because the love is real even when the song is contempt.
